How to Set a Custom WordPress 404 Page

Get to know how to set up a creative and stylish WordPress 404 custom page. Thanks to the JetThemeCore plugin, you can create its template in a blink of an eye.

Before you start check tutorial requirements:

  • Elementor (Free version) or Block editor (Gutenberg)

  • JetThemeCore installed and activated

If there is a broken link on your website, or if you’ve changed the page’s address, the 404 error often occurs.

Even if there are no broken links on your website, the user can mistype the address and still see the 404 error. That is why it is a good idea to provide your website with a user-friendly custom 404 page.

Fortunately, with JetThemeCore, which is included in the Crocoblock subscription, you can easily create a custom 404 page with Block Editor or Elementor. Keep reading to learn more about creating a custom 404 page with Elementor, as the creating process in Gutenberg is pretty much similar.

Go to WordPress Dashboard > Crocoblock > My Library. Click the “Add New” button to create a new template.

In the displayed pop-up, select the “Single” option as a Template Type, then pick the “Elementor” option (or the “Block Editor” one if you are working with Gutenberg) in the Template Content Type and fill in the Template Name field if desired.

However, the last field is optional; you can freely leave it empty.

Push the “Create Template” button to begin setting up a template.
